It is with great pleasure that I would like to announce the launch of my nonprofit social enterprise, FormatAide. I have found myself driven to create FormatAide as a means of addressing the economic devastation in my home country, Haiti. After the 7.0 earthquake hit Haiti, I witnessed and lived among thousands of destroyed homes, businesses, and hopes. Two hundred thousand dead, millions left with nothing. Through this, I came to understand the crucial role that small businesses play in Haitian life. And it became clear to me that independent sustainable business skills will play a critical role in the survival of many small to medium sized business leaders. I have therefore established FormatAide in order to provide small business owners in Haiti with the skills, tools and support they will need to become independent, self-sustaining and successful.
How You Can Help To raise the funding needed to implement this training program, FormatAide is launching a crowdfunding campaign through www.Indiegogo.com starting on Friday November 22, 2013.
We hope to raise a total of $ 5,000 to fund training for the first phase of the KoreBiznis training program. This will fund 500 hours of training and coaching to 6 entrepreneurs and 3 college students. We urge you to donate to this cause and share it with your friends. Every contribution counts toward a more successful Haiti.
